Gardening Almanac is a new series of talks, hosted by local smallholder Caz Wyatt. We will be inviting a range of speakers to come and share their knowledge and expertise in particular areas, be it growing your own food, cultivating magnificent blooms, nurturing the wildlife on your plot, and beyond.

In preparation for spring’s growing season we will be diving into the world of seeds. This will be a chance to learn more about different varieties of seeds to help make informed decision about what you want to grow in your garden. There will be a chance to buy seeds at the event.

Chris and Peni from the Wales Seed Hub will talk about the advantages and delights of saving your own seed from your own garden. They will explain how easy it is to get started, why it's so important and highlight what new seed savers need to know. They will bring with them some Wales Seed Hub seeds for sale.

Chris Vernon lives on a smallholding in Carmarthenshire and after completing a seed-saving course in 2019 is now growing seed for the Wales Seed Hub and for Real Seeds as well as saving seed for home use.

Peni Ediker is a successful market gardener, supplying her local community with seasonal organic vegetables. Peni has trained with Real Seeds, has grown seed for Real Seeds and now is growing seeds for the Wales Seed Hub.
