Helen Booth: Synapse @ Oriel Mwldan

After exhibiting in the gallery in 2007 we welcome back Helen Booth to Oriel Mwldan. Booth is a drawer, painter and installation maker who’s practice embraces the versatility of the line. In 2012 she was awarded the prestigious Pollock Krasner Award for her work on paper. This exhibition features recent work and predominantly explores ideas of materiality through the layering. The artist builds up impulsive, expressive marks which are then stripped back to build space and texture into the works. This experimental overworking of a surface introduces hidden areas to her creations which Booth sees as key to her practice.

A free workshop for schools and collages will accompany this exhibition, contact Isie@mwldan.co.uk for details.
