Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru: Anfamol

Mwldan 2

“Maybe I’m too fussy. But I just haven’t met ‘The One’. To be honest, I find men really, really annoying.”  Welcome to Ani’s world. Feminist, lawyer, sister, aunty, daughter. And mother? Although single, and against the advice of her family, Ani decides to use a sperm bank to have a baby. Maybe this is just what is needed to unite her complicated family? But then the pandemic hits and Ani’s life grinds to a halt. As a new mother, Ani is suddenly stuck at home with a baby who won’t stop crying.  She is drowning in a world of Peppa Pig and formula, and counts down the hours every day until ‘wine o’clock’. Being a mother isn’t what she expected at all! A funny and tender new play by Rhiannon Boyle about identity, loss, love and belonging, about being a mother and a single parent in the new world we are living in.
