Zama (15)

Lucrecia Martel | 2017 | Argentina | Brazil | Spain | 112’

Rewarded for bravery in battle with a position as a magistrate in a remote outpost on the Paraguay River, Diego de Zama awaits news of a posting to a more prestigious location, reuniting him with his wife and children. Years go by in which Zama passes the time fantasising about the women around him and he begins to suspect that being an Americano is the reason imperial powers have left him to stagnate in middle of nowhere. Out of pure frustration he joins a band of men pledged to capture a infamous spectral bandit.
