COVID - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please check our entry requirements before EACH visit, as things can change rapidly...
Changes coming into effect from 1 July:
- Socially distanced screenings - From July 2022 onwards we will no longer have entire days dedicated to SD screenings. Instead we will programme stand-alone SD screenings of each title.
Please read the FAQs below for more details...
SOCIALLY DISTANCED AND NON SOCIALLY DISTANCED SCREENINGS
We will be showing individual titles with social distancing on various days of the week (in the same way that we do subtitled screenings). At least one SD screening for most films.
On the website, socially distanced screenings are listed on a different page to the non-socially distanced screenings. Please see our cinema what’s on page for both socially and non-socially distanced screenings.
In our brochure, look out for the colour coding
Social distancing means you will be seated at least 2 metres from other audience members.
UNLESS CLEARLY LABELLED AS SUCH, ALL OUR SCREENINGS AND EVENTS ARE NON-SOCIALLY DISTANCED. This applies to films, live events and broadcast events.
BOOKING TICKETS
You can book online 24/7 at www.mwldan.co.uk and by phone or in-person between 12-8pm Tuesday to Sunday (and on Mondays during the holidays).
The building will now be open with a manned Box Office between 12 noon and 8pm Tuesday - Sunday (and Mondays in school holiday and public holidays) with drinks and snacks available at the bar.
We strongly advise booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment as our capacity is currently very limited on some screenings due to social distancing.
COVID SAFETY MEASURES
Ventilation in the auditoriums
We have an enhanced air handling system in each auditorium for fresh air circulation with 24/7 air quality monitoring. Clean air is introduced at low level and extracted at high level in each auditorium, ensuring complete changes of air within all auditoriums with no recycled air being used in any spaces.
Masks
For socially distanced screenings, all of our customer-facing staff will wear masks. We recommend masks wearing for your safety and the safety of those around you.
Staff testing
Our staff team test on a regular basis.
See ‘Socially Distanced Screenings’ for details of those...
REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS AND POSTPONMENT
Refunds policy
We temporarily changed our refund policy in order to best accommodate last minute changes caused by COVID. From 1 July we will be returning to our previous refund policy (which allows our venue to operate in a more viable way).
PLEASE NOTE - TICKETS SOLD FOR OUR CO-PROMOTED EVENTS AT CARDIGAN CASTLE ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
I’ve booked my tickets but I don’t feel well
For the safety and wellbeing of everyone, you must not visit Mwldan if you feel unwell or if you are displaying any of the COVID-19 (high temperature, new and/or persistent cough, loss of taste or smell). Please see: Welsh Government Guidance. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days or are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, please don’t attend. Please follow the current Welsh Government guidance around self-isolation if you have tested positive for COVID-19, come into contact with some with COVID-19 or suspect that you may have COVID-19.
What if an event I’ve booked for gets postponed or cancelled by Mwldan?
If it is necessary to move an event to a new date you will get offered tickets for the new date. Should the new date not be suitable we will offer you a full refund or credit on our system. Contact our boxoffice on boxoffice@mwldan.co.uk
I have a credit on your system from a previous visit which was cancelled – can I use that?
Of course. Credit on our system does not expire. Please contact our box office to book, or you can use your credit voucher number to book online (we also accept part-payments).
MWLDAN CAFÉ AND BAR
Our bar is open to the public whenever the building is open (see opening hours).
We’ll be serving cake, popcorn, sweets and ice cream as well as hot and cold drinks (and a brand new coffee machine!). We kindly ask that you do not bring your own food and drink with you.
OPENING TIMES
The building is open between 12 noon and 8pm Tuesday - Sunday (and Mondays in school holiday and public holidays)
HIRING THE CINEMA / PRIVATE SCREENINGS
We are happy to discuss private hiring options. If you feel more comfortable attending a screening as part of a wider group of friends and family where you know everyone in the audience, we will do our best to accommodate you with or without social distancing in place. Please contact boxoffice@mwldan.co.uk / 01239 621 200 for further details
